This is painting is part of a series that explores the relationships between the building of social life and the building of places and spaces in a London neighbourhood. This particular set of 3 is about centres and the role these play in the forming of local neighbourhood, focusing on the contrast between the place and how it functions - sometimes two conflicting patters of city living. This set is based on personal interpretations, using layering, geometry and contrast to create an impactful impression.
